IGNITE

 

Ignite - Ignite is a once a month activity night for middle school students. We play lots of games, eat dinner and share a devotions with one another. Ignite usually occurs on the second Friday of the month from 6pm to 9pm. We'll be kicking Ignite back into gear on Friday, October 14th. 

 

Service Projects – The youth ministry at Zion is committed to serving others. We see service in Jesus' name as not only a fulfillment of Zion's mission statement to "Love God and Our Neighbors" but because we recognize how important it is to impact the world with our faith.  Check this page and the newsletter (link to the right) for service dates. 

 

Habitat for Humanity Work Days – A crew leaves from Zion every second Saturday to work on rehabilitating houses with Habitat for Humanity. All ages are invited and that includes youth! (as long as your 16 or older...) Meet at Zion at 8:15, bring a bagged lunch and we’ll work with our regular crew until about 2:30. Upcoming dates are Oct 8, Nov 12 and Dec 10. 

Confirmation Classes are for 8th & 9th graders to help prepare them for life as an adult disciple of the church. Classes start with a large group lesson taught by Pastor Randy or another adult leader. Then the class breaks up into small groups led by volunteers who encourage discussion and deeper understanding of the large group lesson. Speak with Kristen or Pastor Randy about joining Confirmation. Classes are held on Sunday evenings twice a month. Dates are on the calendar/newsletter link to the right.

Mission Trips - We organize a mission trip at least once a year. Dates, ages and location tend to change each year depending on where we are feeling called to serve but we have served in Chicago, IL, Slidell, LA and Buffalo, NY.
